Pop Up Events

The idea for the Wandering Mollusk Pop-Up event was inspired by the explosive growth of the Island’s craft brewing Industry. Suddenly, there were all these guys just like us, only with beer, wine and spirits instead of oysters and buckets. It made all kinds of sense to get together and so we started showing up at brewhouses, wineries and distilleries. Before long, we were having shucking good times at festivals, grand openings, markets and anyplace with fun-loving folk and a liquor license.

Catered Events

Our roots are in catering events. It remains our favourite thing to do, We started out creating platters of fresh west coast oysters provided by our kindred spirit providers and transporting them with great care to all kinds of special events. Weddings. Retirement parties. Startup exit celebrations. And one occasion, a wake. The dear departed will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the party he inspired. And it’s so much more than the finest variety of oysters on the planet. It’s the crew that shucks them before your eyes Boy, do they have stories to tell!

Jess, the owner of Wandering Mollusk, took the time to help educate me in the true way to eat fresh, locally picked oysters and how to properly pair them with homemade sauces and garnishes to fit my taste preference. I find this is a true staple of downtown Victoria’s local food scene and encourage everyone to go experience it!

It is challenging to plan for birthdays during COVID lock down, but I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon the Wandering Mollusk. I ordered the dungeon was crab bucket and it was a big hit! Really elevated the experience of a birthday dinner during lockdown. I am an amateur around the kitchen but this is a no brainer! Pop it on the stove and 20mins later … dinner is ready to serve.
